Our Founding Fathers and the Constitution

Our founding fathers, the delegates that were invited to the constitutional convention, made a resolution on February 21, 1787. It basically stated that on the second Monday in the month of May, there would be a convention of delegates who, appointed by several states, would be held in Philadelphia to revise the "Articles of Confederation".

What are the thoughts of our founding fathers when writing the Constitution based on Judeo-Christian Beliefs? While reading through an article one persons belief is that the question to debate is as follows. The question to debate is: What was in the mind of the Founding Fathers as they drafted the US Constitution, Secular government or a representative government based on Judeo-Christian values?

If one studies various reference sites, it may seem as if our nation's laws and government were indeed founded on Judeo-Christian values. Many go on further to say that our founding fathers were "God fearing men". In George Washington's Proclamation of National Thanksgiving, he makes many references to God and how much of an impact He has on all things. Because God was such an important part of these men's lives, it's hard to image that they made the Constitution without having their beliefs in mind.

However, their exact influences may never be known. Whether or not the Constitution was created with Judeo-Christian values remains unknown, and it is a subject that will most likely always be debated. Some firmly believe that the founding fathers wanted to keep religion out of politics, while others believe that their intention was to have the two closely knit together.
