T E A tax Day
I attended my first protest rally on Tax Day in San Antonio Texas and had a TEA (Taxed Enough Already) party at the Alamo with several thousand of my newest friends. I must confess at this point I had no idea how many like minded Americans were out there looking for a way to express themselves. It was not just one political party; it was Americans of all walks of life and political persuasions and contrary to popular belief I was in the safest place in town that day. There were folks there that came after work in their work clothes everything from the oil stained mechanics uniform to the three piece suites, blue jeans, slacks, dresses, all with the same thing on their minds: that we are taxed enough, government is out of control, and Washington has forgot for whom they work.
It was a new experience for me to be that involved politically; about anything, but Washington DC has gone too far this time, with bailouts, taxes, cronyism, blatant disregard for a majority of citizens wishes. Washington continues to cater to small but rather loud groups that have passed off what they do as politically correct and their right to do no matter whose rights they trample on.
All I know is that I am fed up!
Enough is Enough! I feel “We the People” have to stand for something or could
very well lose everything on which our Founding Fathers worked so hard and
diligently. The first stimulus package by Washington’s on admission was opposed
by the people nearly 80 to 1 and yet they ignored us and voted for it anyway
biting the hand that feeds them.
Congress continues to ignore their constituency
“We the People” for whatever reason (I suspect it is money and power to set
their individual kingdoms) and I believe that it is time for “We the People” to
STAND UP and Be COUNTED.
The next round of TEA Party’s are on the 4th of July; there will be one near you. Join us in a peaceful demonstration of the power of “We the People”. Party like its 1773!
